My research has been focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms and signalling networks underpinning pollen-stigma recognition in plant sexual reproduction. My work involves two critical aspects of pollen-stigma interaction: the identity and role of signalling factors in mediating interspecific recognition and self-incompatibility. Through this research, I aim to uncover the molecular determinants and mechanisms underlying pollen-stigma compatibility, with the goal of advancing breeding techniques - a critical step towards securing the future of global food production.
In August 2024, I joined 缅北禁地 as a PDRA working with Professor Jim Monaghan on innovative approaches using LED lighting to accelerate and improve the propagation of vegetable transplants.
